For thorough and material-friendly cleaning

Facades are exposed to extreme environmental stress every day. Weather, air pollution, UV radiation, algae, moss, or graffiti can impair their appearance and protective function. Regular cleaning is therefore crucial to maintain the aesthetic impact and longevity of buildings.

Blasting media enable thorough and material-friendly cleaning of facades. They remove dirt, loose particles, or old coatings and optimally prepare the surface for potential protective coatings, impregnations, or repainting.

Why are blasting media important in facade cleaning?

Facades consist of various materials such as natural stone, concrete, plaster, clinker, glass, or metal. Every surface requires adapted cleaning to avoid damage. Blasting media provide:

Effective removal of contaminants

Dust, soot, algae, moss, graffiti, or old coatings are reliably removed

Gentle surface processing

The substance of the facade is not damaged and sensitive materials are protected.

Preparation for protective measures

After cleaning, impregnation, varnish, or protective coatings adhere significantly better.

Standard-compliant cleaning

Requirements and standards can be met for historical or listed buildings.

  • Longer service life and aesthetic value retention of the building envelope.

Tips for optimal facade cleaning with blasting media

Every facade reacts differently to blasting media. Blasting tests can assist in the optimal selection of the right blasting media.

Excessive pressure can damage plaster, natural stone, or ornamental details, while insufficient pressure will not remove dirt adequately.

Scaffolding, cherry pickers, or rope access are often required when cleaning facades. Personal protective equipment including a helmet, gloves, safety goggles, and respiratory protection is mandatory for facade blasting.

Blasting damp facades can cause material damage, while dry surfaces yield better results. Therefore, try to prepare the facade so that it is dry.

After cleaning, surfaces should be impregnated, sealed, or recoated as necessary to ensure long-term protection.

Blasting media residues and loosened contaminants should be collected and disposed of professionally, especially in urban or sensitive areas.
