Garnet Blasting Abrasive

Description

Garnet blasting abrasive is a mineral recy­clable blasting abrasive based on the natu­rally occurring mineral almandine. It meets the requi­re­ments of DIN EN ISO 11126–10 N/GA/G as well as the occu­pa­tional safety regu­la­tions of DGUV Rule 100–500, Chapter 2.24 “Working with Blasting Equipment (Blasting Operations)”. 

Due to its high density, hardness, and angu­larity, garnet blasting abrasive is an effi­cient, durable, and low-dust blasting medium. It is excel­lently suited for surface cleaning, rust removal, and pre­pa­ration for coating work on a wide variety of mate­rials – from steel to stainless steel, from con­crete to wood.

Typical Appli­ca­tions

Garnet blasting abrasive is used in both mobile and sta­tionary blasting systems – from small cabinets to auto­mated blasting halls.

Due to its hardness and angu­larity, it is sui­table for demanding tasks in cor­rosion pro­tection, steel and stainless steel pro­cessing, con­crete res­to­ration, and shipbuilding.

Grain Size

The grain size of garnet blasting abrasive influences removal per­for­mance and surface quality. Fine grain sizes are sui­table for a gentle, uniform blasting pattern, while coarse grain sizes enable powerful cleaning and high surface roughness.
