Glass Beads Blasting Media

Description

Glass beads blasting media is a high-quality, reusable blasting media based on melted soda-lime glass in accordance with DIN 8201. The product meets occu­pa­tional safety requi­re­ments in accordance with DGUV Rule 100–500, Chapter 2.24 “Working with blasting equipment (blasting work)” and is approved as a non-sili­­cosis-hazardous blasting media. 

Thanks to their sphe­rical shape and uniform structure, glass beads provide gentle yet effi­cient surface tre­atment and are the­r­efore ideal for matting, smoothing (shot peening) or removing heat tint on sen­sitive mate­rials such as stainless steel or aluminium.

Typical appli­ca­tions

Glass beads are mainly used as reusable blasting media in sta­tionary com­­pressed-air blasting systems, such as injector blast cabinets. Due to their sphe­rical grain shape, they are less abrasive than angular blasting media and are the­r­efore ideal for gentle cleaning, den­si­fying (shot peening) or deco­rative blasting of sen­sitive surfaces.

The grit size of the blasting media has a direct impact on the blasting result. Fine grit sizes produce silky-matt, smooth sur­faces, while coarser grit sizes leave a more tex­tured surface.
