Glass Gra­nulate MG Blasting Media

Description

Glass Gra­nulate MG is a high-quality fine blasting media based on crushed soda-lime glass according to DIN 8201. It meets the occu­pa­tional safety requi­re­ments of DGUV Rule 100–500, Chapter 2.24 “Working with Blasting Equipment (Blasting Work)”. 

Unlike Glass Gra­nulate ST, which pri­marily con­sists of white flat glass, Glass Gra­nulate MG is obtained from green, brown, and white glass in varying pro­por­tions. Due to its hardness and angular structure, it is excel­lently suited for gentle yet effective surface tre­atment of metal, wood, and non-ferrous metals.

Typical Appli­ca­tions

Glass Gra­nulate MG can be used in mobile and sta­tionary com­pressed air blasting systems. Due to its abrasive yet gentle pro­perties, it is ideal for fine blasting, derusting and paint stripping, matting, and surface cleaning of sen­sitive materials.

Grain Size

The grain size of the blasting media is crucial for blasting per­for­mance and surface finish. Glass Gra­nulate MG is available in various grain sizes – from fine variants for gentle cleaning to coarse grain sizes for stronger material removal. 

Fine grain sizes (up to 200 µm) are sui­table for sen­sitive mate­rials such as wood, glass, or alu­minum, while coarser grain sizes (from 400 µm) are optimal for cor­rosion pro­tection, steel, or con­crete.
