TESTRA®R Blasting Abrasive
Description
TESTRA®R is a calcium silicate-based blasting abrasive, compliant with DIN EN ISO 11126–6. It is characterized by high abrasiveness, consistent results, and environmentally friendly properties. It meets occupational safety requirements according to DGUV Rule 100–500 Chapter 2.24 “Work with Blasting Equipment (Blasting Work)”, making it a safe and tested blasting abrasive for industrial applications.
This mineral single-use blasting abrasive is produced from blast furnace slag, a mineral, liquid melt generated during pig iron production. Due to its angular structure, high hardness, and stable composition, TESTRA®R offers excellent cleaning and coating removal performance.
TESTRA®R is free of crystalline silica, and the dust generated during blasting is not silicogenic. This makes it ideal for users who value safety, efficiency, and environmental compatibility.
TESTRA®R – Sustainability Meets Performance
The calcium silicate blasting abrasive TESTRA®R combines environmental friendliness, versatility, and cost-effectiveness. These properties are not simultaneously offered by many other blasting abrasives.
For those who value sustainable, clean, and reproducible blasting results, TESTRA®R provides a reliable and safe solution for a wide range of applications.

Grit Size
To achieve optimal blasting results, please select the appropriate abrasive grit size. Finer grit sizes are suitable for precise and faster work, while coarser grit sizes allow for greater material removal.
Tip: The choice of grit size depends on the desired surface structure. As a rule of thumb, the largest grain of the selected grit size multiplied by a factor of 3 yields the optimal nozzle diameter for the product.
