Description

Vit­ro­Blast® is a high-quality blasting media based on hollow and flat glass. It impresses with its ver­sa­tility and envi­ron­mental com­pa­ti­bility. It meets occu­pa­tional safety requi­re­ments in accordance with DGUV 100–500, Chapter 2.24 “Working with blasting equipment (blasting work)” and is the­r­efore a tested, safe, and sus­tainable blasting media for industry and skilled trades. 

As an iron-free blasting media, Vit­ro­Blast® is par­ti­cu­larly well suited for work on high-alloy steels, non-ferrous metals, and sen­sitive mate­rials. Its con­sistent quality and bright blast finish ensure repro­du­cible results in every application.

Typical appli­ca­tions

It can be used as single-use and reusable blasting media in mobile and sta­tionary com­­pressed-air and slurry blasting systems. It enables gentle cleaning of sen­sitive sur­faces, for example molds and tools. Due to its iron-free pro­perties, it is sui­table for blasting work on high-alloy steels, special steels, non-ferrous metals, and wood.

Grit size

To achieve the best blasting result, choose the right blasting media grit size. Finer grit sizes are sui­table for pre­cision work, while coarser grit sizes allow for higher material removal. 

Tip: The choice of grit size depends on the desired surface profile. A rule of thumb is that nozzle dia­meter ÷ 6 is the optimal grit size for the respective blasting process.
